Australia-first 3D mammography system with patient assisted compression
23 July 2018
Benson Radiology has installed an Australia-first mammography unit at its North Adelaide clinic.
The GE Senographe Pristina is the only unit of its type to offer patient controlled self compression, making mammography examinations more comfortable.
Under the guidance and supervision of our skilled mammographers, patients can play a role in determining a desired level of breast compression.
This functionality also helps ensure that the need for adequate compression is part of the very important convesration we have with our patients.
The system has been specifically designed to provide a more comfortable experience for patients. In addition to the patient controlled compression, the Pristina also features a uniquely designed thinner detector, more flexible and comfortable compression paddles and faster scan times.
The GE unit is also the highest resolution and lowest dose tomosynthesis system available today.
The introduction of the unit adds to Benson Radiology’s well-deserved reputation as a leader in breast imaging. The Practice has the widest availability of breast tomosynthesis (3D best imaging) in South Australia.
3D breast imaging is offered at our North Adelaide, Salisbury, Morphett Vale, Western Hospital and Modbury Hospital clinics.
