Celebration to hail Mount Gambier MRI service

More than 70 community leaders and members of the medical community were on hand last Thursday to help celebrate the launch of Benson Radiology’s MRI service in Mount Gambier.

The event, held at the Mount Gambier Hospital was attended by member for Mount Gambier, Troy Bell, Mount Gambier Mayor, Andrew Lee and Hospital Chief, Jayne Downs.

The MRI scanner which has full Medicare eligibility was hailed at the event as one of the most significant milestones in the history of the city.

Since opening the service in the first week of May, Benson Radiology has scanned more than 400 patients, which clearly demonstrates the need for the service and vindicates the decision to grant the scanner a Medicare licence.
