Medicare changes for specified MRI of the pelvis and upper abdomen

Medicare rebates are now available to specialists for the evaluation of Crohn’s disease (specified MRI scans only).
The new items can only be claimed for services performed on fully eligible MRI units. Benson Radiology welcomes these scans at its Ashford and Morphett Vale branches.
The new items are listed below:

Medicare benefits are only payable for this item if the service is provided to patients: (a) Evaluation of disease extent at time of initial diagnosis of Crohn’s disease Assessment of change to therapy can only be claimed once in a 12 month period. |
