New Benson Radiology branch for City West health precinct
24 June 2014
Benson Radiology has announced plans to join Adelaide’s growing health hub on North Terrace from 2016.
The practice’s new City West clinic will be situated at 18 North Terrace, across the road from the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and the newly opened South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Benson Radiology’s Managing Partner Dr Sunil Gupta said the move into the city would help create an extensive health and medical diagnostic and treatment centre in the CBD for South Australians.
The comprehensive clinic will offer wide bore MRI, ultrasound, digital x‑ray, low-dose CT and digital OPG (dental) services.
“Introducing a private imaging provider will round out the range of health and medical services to be offered in the western corner of the CBD, allowing smoother and faster access to high quality diagnostic imaging and interventional services,” Dr Gupta said.
“It’s exciting for our practice to be one of a number of stakeholders such as new RAH, SAHMRI, and the universities all looking to deliver world class medical services.
“We also see that in time the west end of the CBD will be an attractive place for a growing number of clinicians, which allows us to provide access to readily available, high quality diagnostic imaging – to both referring medical practitioners and importantly their patients.”
The growing demand for Benson Radiology’s services has been fuelling the growth of the practice, which operates clinics around Adelaide and in key regional centres and employs almost 500 staff.
Benson Radiology’s City West expansion follows the opening of a new clinic at Christies Beach in 2013, the recent creation of an Ultrasound Specialist Centre at Ashford, and the 2012 redevelopment and expansion of the practice’s Salisbury clinic. The practice will also soon open a new clinic at Adelaide Paediatrics in Kensington Park. The City West clinic will be the practice’s 24th in South Australia.
