One year anniversary for Mount Gambier MRI

Today marks the one year anniversary of Benson Radiology providing MRI services in Mount Gambier.

The fully Medicare-rebateable MRI service has provided a major boost to health services in the region according to Benson Radiology’s Managing Partner, Dr Simon Hobbs.

“The one year anniversary of the MRI service is certainly a milestone for our Practice, but more importantly it’s a massive step forward for local patients and the healthcare services in the region,” Dr Hobbs said.

“What the service allows for is faster diagnosis, better medicine and better outcomes for both patients and clinicians.

“Since the MRI service commenced in May last year, more than 3,000 local patients have benefitted from the service.

“This support for the service vindicates our decision to provide the MRI scanner and also vindicates the federal government’s decision to grant the scanner a Medicare licence.

“In that regard I pay tribute to the local parliamentary members and other members of the local community who helped keep the issue in the spotlight for the betterment of the Mount Gambier community.”
