What is an MRI machine?

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive imaging technique that utilities a strong magnetic field to generate highly detailed images of different regions of the human body. MRI is widely used to assess organs, tissues and the musculoskeletal system, and plays an important role in diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of conditions, without using ionising radiation.

Why do we ask about implants?

Some implants may be completely compatible, while others could pose risks or interfere with image quality. To ensure your safety and the effectiveness of the scan, we carefully assess any implants you may have. This includes reviewing manufacturer guidelines and MRI compatibility before proceeding with your MRI appointment.
